I am a sophomore at Carleton College pursuing Spanish and Educational Studies.

I am also involved in the Carletonian, the campus newspaper, as the editor of the Bald Spot. Through working with writers and crafting my own pieces, I have developed a talent for humor and satire.

I am originally from Rosemount, MN, where I developed a few hobbies.

I started to crochet a few years ago and have barely left my hook alone since then, creating numerous projects, among them Frog here.

I pursue artistic expression through music, including jazz and classical piano, bassoon, arranging, composing, and more.

I have worked as a tutor and am an intern in the reference department of Gould Library.

I have tutored students privately, at big companies, and in schools, and all of it has taught me how to see students as individuals who need to be supported no matter the context of learning. Too often, students feel alienated by rigid and detached curriculum, which makes it difficult to build a positive relationship with learning. When I work with a student, I prioritize their reaction to the material in the interest of overcoming the negative self-esteem that often results from traditional schooling.

In my internship, I have studied various facets of academic librarianship and worked as a research assistant at the reference desk. I have also participated in library events and developed professional skills including research, instruction, and technical skills by designing websites using WordPress and LibGuides, short webpages providing resources for course research.

In the future, I hope to continue learning about the library and archival fields.

My wish is to assist students and researchers by serving as a scaffolding for knowledge production and collaborative learning.
